Technology in Play

Inspiring the next generation of STEM revolutionaries

Hello!

“When I grow up, I want to be…” – A regular discussion in many households (and not just for the children!). Isn’t there something magical about a child’s discovery about what opportunities they have in the future and just how much the answer to this question changes as they explore and experience more and more of the world?

Here at Technology in Play (TiP) we are passionate about providing children with new, exciting, and engaging experiences in education from a young age, specifically in the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). We have recognised the huge skills gap reported in STEM careers and taken action to educate children on, not only the wider opportunities available to them but just how interesting and exciting learning in this way can be. All before they reach secondary school, a time when many young people have already made their mind up about what they are passionate about and who can pursue which career.

But how? With the help of some of our favourite tech toys and catalogue of hands on challenges and activities we’ve spent the last couple of years engaging curious minds in the classroom, at our holiday camps and by working with national museums. Children are provided with the opportunity to discover their interests, explore new ways of learning and practice core principles such as communication, creativity and learning through failure.

We’re a small business with a small team, founded by a working mum keen to provide such opportunities for her own young and curious daughter. We want to spread the word and inspire children and families from across the country so , as our name suggests, we’re harnessing the power of Technology and creating an online community where conversations can be had and content will be shared. We know this is something regularly talked about so we would love you to join our community in any which way you can and help us by actively participating, sharing your ideas/ feedback and spreading the word about our mission.
